INTEGRATED VECTOR MANAGEMENT IMPLEMENTATION IN CIMAHI: A CASE STUDY

Dengue Haemorrhagic Fever (DHF) is a disease caused by dengue virus that transmitted through Aedes aegypti or Aedes albopictus bite. The number of DHF cases in Indonesia is tending to increase and the spread become wider by incresing year. Cimahi with its nearest neighbour region that are Bandung, Kabupaten Bandung and Kabupaten Bandung Barat are geographically similar and all of them are the regions with highest DHF IR in West Java. While the other three have a slight decrease in IR, the city of Cimahi has a bigger decrease on IR in 2010 compared to the year before. The decrease in DHF cases were, of course, not only because of natural causes but also perhaps because of the effort the city made in controlling the vector of DHF.
